Antique Sailors Rigging or Rope Knife. 18th century. Revolutionary War Era. Possibly early American Navy Equipment.
Entirely hand forged by a very skilled blacksmith. , right down to the detailed rat tail at the butt end of the blade. No signature or markings.
2 3/4” blade. 2” fixed marlin spike.
Belt loop.
The iron is stained with age, and, surprisingly has no pitting and remains sharp enough to cut rope.
Condition is "Used".
